Shenandoah Engagement Photos // Shenandoah National Park // Lauren + Matt
Lauren and Matt reached out to me back in July to book me for their May 2022 wedding in North Carolina and for their engagement photos. We started planning their engagement shoot and discussing possible locations. In their list, I threw in two of my bucket list locations, Shenandoah National Park and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, to see if they would be down for a little travel. And luckily they were!
I later found out from Lauren that Matt had proposed in the Blue Ridge Mountains, so heading back for their engagement photos was perfect for them! So, between the proposal and their engagement photos, the Blue Ridge Mountains has been home to some very sentimental memories for these two!
There’s so many amazing trails in Shenandoah National Park and visiting the park during all seasons is absolutely stunning, but fall in Shenandoah National Park is completely out of this world. You can’t take your eyes off of the red, orange, and yellow colored leaves on the trees lining Skyline Drive as you travel through the park. This was the exact reason why Lauren and Matt decided on their engagement shoot in October.
October is the best month for seeing fall colors in Shenandoah National Park, but it’s also one of the busiest times of year for the park as the temperature begins to cool and the leaves on the trees start to change to those vibrant and eye catching colors. If you’re planning to visit the park to experience its fall beauty, try to plan your visit on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds. To check to progress of the fall colors in the park, check out Shenandoah National Park's Instagram page, where they do weekly updates! You can read more about fall in the park on the National Park Service Website.
With perfect planning and good luck, Lauren and Matt were gifted with those vivid fall colors on the day of their engagement shoot and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out!
