If you plan to elope in a national park, state park, Forest Service land, or BLM land, be sure to work with your elopement photographer to check if permits are required for your chosen location and what regulations there might be. March starts off with cool temperatures ranging from 40-50°F (4-10°C), gradually rising to 60-70°F (15-21°C) by May. While spring showers are common, they contribute to the greenery that is iconic to the state.
Summer (June to August)
Average temperatures range from 70-80°F (21-27°C), although heat waves can occasionally push temperatures higher and humidity is frequent. Summer also brings many festivals and outdoor concerts.
Fall (September to November)
As the days shorten, the temperatures linger in the 70s-80s°F (21-27°C), gradually cooling to 30-40°F (-1 to 4°C) by November. Known for its fall colors, autumn is the time for scenic drives along winding country roads, visits to apple orchards, and hikes.
Winter (December to February)
Average temperatures range from around 20°F (-6°C) in January to 35°F (1.7°C) in December, with the northern regions often experiencing even colder temperatures. Residents and visitors normally embrace the season with ice fishing, snowshoeing, skiing, and other winter recreation.
