Courthouse Vista Elopement in Sedona // Kyleigh + Andy
Kyleigh and Andy have a love story that their friends and family refer to as “The Notebook”. Andy was Kyleigh’s first love about 18 years ago. His dad had advised him to enlist in the Army as a single man. So, they parted ways and both seemingly moved on to meet other people. After living separate lives for almost 15 years, they connected again over social media. It didn’t take long for them to fall back into love and soon Andy moved across the country to live with Kyleigh. He claimed he was “never letting me go again,” she shared with me.
After talking with Kyleigh and Andy, they shared with me that they had opted to have a destination elopement with their closest family members in beautiful Sedona.
The week of their wedding, Andy and Kyleigh flew together from their home state of Illinois. They arrived earlier in the week to explore all parts of Sedona, apply for their marriage license, and relax with family prior to their elopement.
On the morning of their elopement, Kyleigh, Andy, and their family spent the morning at their VRBO getting ready, having breakfast together, drinking coffee, and taking in the day that awaits them. Kyleigh and Andy got ready separately at the VRBO and rode in separate vehicles to the trailhead of Courthouse Vista where they had their first look on the trail along the way to the vista.
After their first look, their family joined them on the trail and we started the brief hike to Courthouse Vista where they had the most beautiful ceremony. Andy said vows to not only Kyleigh, but Kyleigh’s daughter, Ainsley, as well.
Once their ceremony was over, their family gave them all of the congratulations, they signed their marriage license, and it was time to start up the portraits with family! These guys made family portraits so much fun and added their own fun flair to the photos rather than only taking the basic portrait shots. Portraits with the family were finished up and they all headed back down the trail to their cars while Kyleigh, Andy, their videographer, Jackilyn Boehme, and I hung around at the vista a little bit longer.
We grabbed all the couple’s portraits that we could and walked back to the parking lot to drive over to Cathedral Rock. The trail to the top is a steep incline, but about halfway up the trail is an amazing vista with panoramic views of the red rocks below and in the distance. Kyleigh and Andy danced around together through the desert as the sun set while taking in the views of the stunning Sedona red rocks that surrounded them completely.
Kyleigh and Andy ended their elopement day by having dinner with their family at one of the amazing restaurants in town and celebrating back at their VRBO!
